The Transfer utilities allow users to transfer information from one ID number to another, either to change their ID number or to consolidate records if duplicate records are discovered in your system. These transfers may be entered at any point during the day. Files will be updated after all other end-of-day processing has been completed if the EOD (End of Day) - Transfer Utilities is set to Y (Y = Yes) in Close End of Day. After transferring all information to the new ID number, the old ID number will be automatically deleted.
It is always wise to run open sales orders, open purchase orders, work orders, open planned transfers, and inventory reports before running the utility and making a system backup. This way users can ensure the utility did what was expected and can restore the data, if necessary, to start over.
